Ms. Kidd has served as an economic expert in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings. Her expertise includes valuation of energy commodities and assets, analysis of lost profits and disgorgement damages, evaluation of the competitive effects of proposed mergers and acquisitions, and the impact of regulation. With 15 years of economic research and consulting experience, Ms. Kidd has been retained by corporate clients, legal counsel and state governments on a wide variety of engagements involving the petroleum, natural gas and electric power industries. Her work has spanned nearly every segment of the oil and gas industry, from exploration and production to refining, processing, transportation, marketing and distribution. She has been engaged in numerous disputes involving oil and gas produced on private, state, federal and tribal lands. Her analyses have included netback calculations, comparable sales and costs, cost of service and natural gas liquids "uplift." Ms. Kidd also has experience navigating economic issues involving electric power and renewable energies. She has advised pipelines and utilities about strategic initiatives related to cost of service, rate design and regulatory restructuring. She joined A&M from Econ One Research, serving 13 years as an economist and, most recently, as managing director and head of the Houston office. Ms. Kidd earned a master’s degree in applied economics and bachelor degrees with honors in political science and economics from Southern Methodist University. She served as president of the International Association for Energy Economics Houston Chapter.
