ChristianaCare Uses Data and Outreach to Reduce Disparities and Build Trusting Relationships with Community Members
Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, President and Chief Executive Officer of ChristianaCare, has set a bold moonshot of achieving health equities, with no disparity, by 2030! Dr. Nevin joins A&M’s Senior Advisor, David Shulkin, M.D., Ninth Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Senior Director, Bianca A. Briola, to share her insights and path for providing everyone the opportunity to live their healthiest life, equally.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a bright light was shone on the disparities that exist in healthcare today. Dr. Nevin has taken this opportunity to strategically work toward solving for what she outlines as a “moral obligation.” Furthermore, she talks about how working to solve for health equity will enable resolutions for some of healthcare’s other pressing challenges – access and affordability – and will ultimately result in a more holistic approach to meeting patient needs.
